The Petal
(Translation from the original Dari is by the writer himself.)
Look at this petal
It is so fine like your face
Its rosy color
Is like the color of your cheeks
Its perfume
Is like the perfume that arises from your embrace
The drop of dew that sparkles on it
Is like the tear of joy that glistens on your cheeks
Look at this flower
It is turbid and fresh like you
It deals flirtations
And provokes the hearts
Look at this flower that shakes on the branch
The green and turbid branch is proud of it
Like your green silken dress
That proudly clasps your young body
Accept this flower from me
And let other flowers, too, blossom
In my heart's flowers bed
Flowers of friendship
Flowers of love
So I present them all to you
Because flower goes with flower
Let together with the scent of flower
And beyond the color
I call you to friendship
And like the birds in spring
Sing you songs of love
Because life is much like
A wink in time
